Šodó, 2022

The term “šodó” originates from the French word “chaud,” which means “hot.” This is a reflection of the Czech Republic’s culinary history, which has absorbed influences from various European cuisines over the centuries.

When Honza and Zuzana chose the name “Šodó” for their tiny family bistro in Dejvice, it was not only a nod to this popular, nostalgic dessert but also to the intricate cultural tapestry of the Czech culinary landscape. The word “šodó” is thus both a linguistic testament to the past and a symbol of the warm, homely, and nostalgic atmosphere Honza and Zuzana strive to evoke in their bistro.
